D. Michael Briggs, President
Following in his father’s professional footsteps, Michael began his career in the financial services industry after graduating from the University of Denver in 2005 with a degree in finance. Although Michael enjoys helping people with their personal and business planning, his favorite part of his job is creating and maintaining relationships with great people and working in the family business.
After taking over for Dave Briggs after his untimely death in 2012, Michael continues to run the business from the day-to-day decisions as well as selling to new prospects and servicing current clients. It is his goal to keep the Colorado Financial Group in the family and maintain the business’ stellar reputation. Specialties: He focuses on the investments, both inside the variable insurance products along with outside brokerage accounts, for the Colorado Financial Group. During an intensive 18 month training program with AXA Advisors, he earned his Series 7 and Series 66 licenses and conducted specialized study in the field of asset allocation design and the matching of custom tailored portfolios to the specific risk tolerances of individual clients. Michael joined the Colorado Financial Group as a Marketer in 2008, and has been leading the firm as both President and Owner.
Michael is an avid golfer and continues to play hockey, and spends the majority of his free time at the links and the rinks. He lives in the Washington Park neighborhood in Denver.
